DISABLE

DEVICE DISABLE - Disable a Device

The DEVICE DISABLE option disables a device controller or unit; that is, making it unavailable for use.  If you disable a controller, you implicitly disable all units on that controller.  Use DISABLE if you need to disable a device that is not working properly

Hardware device> DISABLE

Response - Type DISABLE at the Hardware device prompt.

Hardware device(s) to disable:

Explanation - DEVICE asks for the device/controller to disable.

Response - Enter the device or controller name that you want to disable.

Error Messages

Device already disabled

The device or controller you entered is already disabled.

Invalid device

The device or controller you entered is not a valid device or controller.
