PARTITION - Partition a Disk


The PARTITION command is used to partition a disk.  A partitioned disk contains contiguous sections that are treated as separate disks.  Each partition can have its own file system.

Init> DISK PARTITION


Response - Type DISK PARTITION at the main Init prompt.

Disk partition (DISKA0) >


Explanation - PARTITION prompts you for the disk to modify.  The default disk is shown in parentheses.


Response - Press Enter to select the default disk or type the name of the disk to partition.  If you type a ? or HELP in response to the prompt, you will be shown the help text at this level.

Explanation - PARTITION prompts you for the partition option to perform.


Response - Enter the partition option to perform.  You can Add a partition, Delete a partition, or List existing partitions.  If you type a ? or HELP in response to the prompt, you will be shown the help text at this level.
