2.2.4.4 Table Statistics

Table metrics can be enabled or disabled on this page, if the user has the EWEPRIV_MODIFYDB privilege. When enabled, all database table activity is tracked so that a report on the activity can be generated. Note that, when enabled, the database performance is halved (or more) which can result in server performance problems - especially on a busy server. It should only be enabled for short periods of time for the purpose of tracking down bottlnecks in database usage. For overall database usage metrics, see the Database Statistics option from the Database page.

Operations done via prepared statements are not logged by the Table metrics feature. This doesn't affect operations by the Admin Panel, but may affect metrics gathered for some modules' activities. Also, modules that access tables by means alternate to the EWE database interface may also not record table metrics.

Accessing this page requires the EWEPRIV_READDB privilege.

The current state of the table metrics is shown. If the user has the EWEPRIV_MODIFYDB privilege, he can change the state. Note that changing the state will not immediately affect users that are already logged-in (except for the user making the change). Thus, for accurate metrics, this should only be changed when there are no other users on the server.

You may choose a starting and ending date for the table metrics report. Only data collected between these date, inclusive, will be shown. The dates can be entered in M/D/Y format. If the start date is blank or an asterisk (*), the report starts with the earliest metrics available. If the end date is blank or an asterisk (*), the report ends with the latest available metrics. Pressing the button will display the report.

If there are no table metrics, "No statistics available" is shown instead.

Table metrics can be deleted on the Table Report page.

Note: The table used for collecting table metrics is not counted as part of the metrics.
